A17. Marketing in the 21st Century
Task 1 Marketing
What is the definition of Marketing?
It is the strategy or tool that companies use to promote their products, services or business.
What is understood as Market in business?
In business the market is the audience, i.e. potential customers, and in general it is the place where companies find themselves competing with the objective of attracting customers.
What is the purpose of Marketing?
The purpose of marketing is to understand customers, their preferences, needs and expectations. With this data, the company can develop a marketing strategy that allows it to keep customers interested in its products.
Why is Marketing important?
Marketing is what helps companies to obtain customers. If people do not know the company, its products and the differentiators it has, they simply will not buy the product/service, which directly affects the company's economy.
What are the different types of Marketing? Define them in detail.
There are many types of marketing, some examples are:
Digital marketing: Leverages technology and digital channels, such as search engines, email and websites to connect with customers
Social media marketing: Uses platforms such as Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn and Twitter, to promote your business and interact with the public.
Print marketing: Uses physically printed media to reach customers on a broad scale, ads are printed in hard copy across different types of publications such as newspapers, magazines, brochures, or direct mail.
What are the aspects a marketer needs to consider nowadays?
A marketer must have a broad knowledge of the market and for his company to be successful in it he must consider the advantage that his product has, the competition, the price, the place, the promotion and mainly, the customer.
What are the differences between Marketing in the past and Marketing in the 21st century?
In the past there were less types of marketing so nowadays reaching customers may be easier but gaining their preference is increasingly difficult, now there are more products on the market and if you do not know how to offer your product no matter how good it is, it will not be successful.

I agree with you in the aspect that nowadays may be easier to let people know you, but it is harder to create a loyal relationship.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, a marketer must know all the background information of the company and its products or services so the content they create is accurate to the what the brand represents
ReplyDeleteI love the approach you gave to the last question! It is a very good observation that it's so much easier reaching an audience but much harder to win it over - and it made for a very enjoyable read.
ReplyDeleteI like the definition you used because it is short and concise and encompasses what marketing is.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in many answers, I think that the way of defining it makes it very clear and I believe that a marketing specialist should know their products and company, no matter what turn it is.
