Introduction to Accounting

1. Why do you think accounting is seen as boring? Explain.

I think most people find accounting boring because they don't really know what it's all about. Many people think that it involves only mathematics when the truth is that you need to have knowledge in different areas. For me it is very important because the accounting department is the one that takes care of the economic well being of the companies which includes the employees.

2. Which of the jobs mentioned would be most interesting for you? Give your reasons.

The most interesting job for me is that of an auditor. I think auditors are very intelligent people who have the ability to find errors in the accounting documents of companies even when they have already been reviewed by employees.

I find it interesting that they are able to detect when companies are not performing their operations according to the law.

3. Why is it so important for accountants to be ethical? Explain in detail.

It is important for accountants to be ethical because the financial world is regulated by many laws. If a company does not respect the correct way of accounting it will have many legal and economic problems, in many occasions the errors and omissions have as a consequence a fine that affects not only the economy of the company, but also the workers and their families.

    May!! I had the pleasure of taking accounting with you and I think that you are one of the few people that do not find it boring since you seem to excel in it! I think that auditor would suit you very well and I agree that accounting is responsible for the income that many families have!

    I also think that the auditor's job is the most interesting. Being a good auditor requires a lot of knowledge and strategy.
